Under $150 you can sound clear. You cannot buy a treated room. A dynamic USB mic closer to the mouth usually beats a sensitive condenser in an untreated box.
Room treatment first
A blanket, a closet, or a cheap foam panel behind you does more than a $20 USB upgrade. Gain before software: if Windows is at 100 and the mic is still quiet, the interface is wrong.
What to buy
A dynamic USB (Samson / Fifine / Elgato-class, depending on the week’s street price) with a boom arm. Skip RGB that sits far away on a desk. Headphones to monitor yourself stop the “why am I echoing” loop.
When a headset mic is fine
If you only talk in Discord with friends, a decent headset is enough. Buy a mic when listeners complain or you record weekly.
