VPN “90% off” banners are usually 90% off a list price nobody pays. A real deal is cheaper than the price you can screenshot from last month, with a refund window that still applies.
Check 90 days of price, not the badge
Search the plan name plus the date. If the $12.99/mo strikethrough has been there since 2023, it is décor. Two-year plans hide the per-month number; divide it. Add tax. Add the auto-renew price after the promo — that is the number that matters.
Refund windows
30 days is usable. 7 days is a trap if the app takes three evenings to test streaming. Read whether refunds exclude gift cards, third-party app stores, or “used servers.”
When to skip extra months
Do not buy three years of a brand you have not run on your actual TV app. One year is enough to learn if the kill switch misbehaves. Skip add-on password managers bundled at checkout unless you already wanted that vendor.
