Flagship headphones go on sale. Fake list prices go on sale every day. Use a 90-day tracker, not the red badge.

How to read the chart

If the line sat at $328 for weeks and today is $279, that is a sale. If it sat at $279 and the page still shows $399 crossed out, that is a costume. CamelCamelCamel, a spreadsheet, or the store’s own price history beats a tweet.

Bundle tricks

A “$50 gift card” that requires a new credit card is not $50. Extended warranties at checkout are priced for people who do not read. Pads and a case you already own are not a bundle.

Who should wait

Wait two weeks after a new model launch. Wait for Prime Day or back-to-school only if the tracker agrees. Do not wait forever if your current pair is broken — comfort has a cost too.
